Terms of Use
What the Service is, and is not
The Service is a free directory and matching tool. It allows people seeking affordable mental health care to post what they can pay, and allows licensed clinicians to post the rates and services they offer. The two sides can then contact each other directly.
If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number. If you are in crisis, you can call or text the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using it, you represent that you are 18 or older and that the information you provide is accurate and truthful.
Posts and content
When you submit a post, you are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of its contents. Posts are reviewed before they appear, and approved posts are displayed publicly, including any contact information you choose to include. Posts expire automatically after approximately 30 days, and you may remove your own post at any time using the link provided when you submit it.
By submitting a post, you grant us permission to display, store, and remove that content as part of operating the Service. We may decline, edit for clarity, or remove any post at our discretion, including posts we believe are inaccurate, misleading, unlawful, abusive, or otherwise inconsistent with these Terms.
Clinician responsibilities
If you post as a clinician, you represent and agree that:
- You hold a valid, active professional license in good standing, and the credentials and license number you provide are accurate and belong to you.
- You will practice only within the scope of your license and only where you are lawfully permitted to do so.
- You are solely responsible for your own professional conduct, licensing, compliance, insurance, and any care you provide.
- You will keep your listing accurate and remove or update it when it is no longer correct.
About the "License Verified" badge
Some clinician listings may display a "License Verified" badge. This badge means only that, at the time of review, we located the clinician's license number on the applicable public state licensing board and it appeared active and registered to the named clinician.
Client responsibilities
You are responsible for evaluating any clinician you choose to contact and for deciding whether their services are right for you. We do not screen clinicians beyond the limited license check described above, and we do not recommend or guarantee any clinician. Exercise your own judgment, ask questions, and verify credentials independently.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information, or impersonate any person or entity.
- Post another person's information without their permission, or collect or harvest information about other users.
- Use the Service for spam, solicitation unrelated to its purpose, or any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to disrupt, scrape, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems.
- Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm any person.
Third-party services and links
The Service relies on third-party providers for hosting, storage, support forms, and translation, and may link to external sites such as state licensing boards. We are not responsible for the content, practices, or availability of third-party services, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any listing, verification result, or other information is accurate, current, or complete.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Psychological Behavioral Team Inc and its officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, your reliance on any listing or verification, or any interaction, agreement, or care provided between a client and a clinician. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed one hundred dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Psychological Behavioral Team Inc and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your posts, your interactions with other users, or your violation of these Terms or any law.
Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute relating to the Service or these Terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Ventura County, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
